A residential study of the results of CBD on an aggressive cat, Biggie, was performed over an eight week period to ascertain if CBD could calm the cat and eliminate his attacking behavior on Riley, the family dog. After taking approximatley16.6 mg of CBD Isolate every day placed on Biggie’s dry cat food, he showed significantly reduced anxiety and fear, as measured by the cat’s behavior and insufficient aggression towards Riley, the dog.
The experimental subject of this study was Biggie, a formally feral black cat, which was rescued after being attacked by way of a winged predator and badly injured as a kitten. Biggie was taken fully to the Veterinarian, patched up, taken inside and after three weeks of hiding from the other two cats and dog that lived in the home, Biggie, started gradually ahead out of hiding and get somewhat closer to the other pets. In the beginning, Biggie was afraid of Riley, a Golden Retriever dog, and would run from her anytime she was nearby.
Over the course of about 3 months, Biggie observed that the other two cats were not bothered by canine and they’d rub facing her and sleep by her. It had been like canine was their protector cbd oil for cats with kidney disease. Gradually, Biggie came closer to Riley, without ever touching her. Most of the animals seemed to have along and there is peace in the home.
All an immediate, 1 day Biggie came face to manage with Riley and went beserk. He hissed and arched his back violently. He growled menacingly and started for Riley with both front claws extended, ready to attack the dog. My spouse, who had been standing nearby in the kitchen intervened, scolded the cat and tried to separate the 2 animals. When she did this, Biggie swatted her with his claws and wounded her on one of her hands and arm. Then he turned and ran away into another room to hide.
This became the new norm. If Biggie arrived to the family area, where most of the animals congregated through the day and he spotted Riley, he would go into attack mode and charge Riley, leading to more human intervention and more scratches on the arms.
This aggressive behavior continued for about a month. We tried squirting water at Biggie, however it only made him mad and he continued to attack Riley. We didn’t know what things to do.
Finally, I chose to administer a few of our pet CBD tincture to Biggie to see if it would reduce his anxiety over canine and calm him down. I used the 500 mg Isolate pet tincture that individuals developed for the CBD Health Club brand for our E-commerce site. I administered one dropper full, that has been about 16.6 mg of CBD Isolate, every morning to his dry cat food. In the beginning, he smelled the cat food and walked away. Later I noticed that he was back up for grabs eating his cat food so I know that he was ingesting a number of the CBD.
I continued to administer exactly the same level of CBD Isolate every morning for eight weeks and Biggie continued to consume it throughout the day.
After about per week, Biggie started initially to relax more and the violent attacks had stopped. He still would avoid Riley, but he would just plop onto another chair or different end of the couch. You could tell that he was losing his fear of canine and relaxing more around her.
Although, this is an anecdotal study, other environmental factors may have intervened and the total amount of CBD intake every day was not scientifically administered, observation of the cat’s daily behavior demonstrated that something was improving his disposition and his aggressiveness towards canine was significantly reduced.
The effect is that I’m going to carry on to offer Biggie a dropper high in the CBD Isolate every day and monitor his behavior on a typical basis. Scientific double-blind studies with a placebo group must be undertaken to ascertain dosing quantities of CBD and gauge the behavior of the cats after successive lengths of time of administration.
